A leading bakery company in Sheffield is seeking a Quality Front Line Manager to ensure quality and food safety standards. Shift: Rotating shifts of days and nights, working 4 days 6AM-6PM / 4 off / 4 nights 6PM-6AM
We have an opportunity for a QFLM to join our Technical Team at Fletchers Bakeries which forms part of our Northern Cluster.
Our Fletchers bakery has over 125 years of baking tradition, with our Kara bakery supplying delicious wholesale bakery products for over 35 years starting with the first floured bap. Both have been part of the Finsbury Food Group since 2014. Fletchers Bakery can trace its roots back to 1895 and both bakeries portfolio of products have risen to include gourmet brioche, traditional sliced bread, bloomer breads and vegan and gluten free options, to name a but a few.
The Quality Front Line Manager will act as the first point of contact within the Technical function, working closely with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure products meet quality and food safety standards. You will carry out routine quality assurance testing and process monitoring, ensuring accurate feedback is provided to management teams and that all products comply with agreed specifications.
You will participate in GMP and other relevant audits, record checks as outlined in the Quality Manual, and take prompt action to address any non-conformances, supporting the continuous improvement of site standards.
This is what you’ll actually do!
You’ll take ownership of food safety and quality performance on site, managing incidents, concessions, and non-compliances as they arise. You’ll lead investigations to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and ensure full resolution to maintain compliance and customer confidence.
You’ll conduct regular internal audits covering hygiene, GMP, allergen management, documentation, and CCPs - following up on actions to ensure they’re completed on time. You’ll also lead traceability exercises, confidently presenting findings during customer and third-party audits.
