Overview

Grant Thornton is seeking a Manager in our Real Estate Tax (RET) team. The role involves supporting clients’ tax compliance requirements and related advisory work within the Real Estate Tax practice, with opportunities to work on high-profile, multi-jurisdictional real estate and infrastructure transactions.

We advise real estate funds, global institutional investors, REITs, private investors, and the public sector on UK and pan-European real estate tax matters, including tax structuring, tax compliance and tax due diligence across various real estate sectors.

Responsibilities

• Support clients’ tax compliance requirements and related tax advisory work.
• Be part of a high-performing team with strong tenure within the firm and sector; opportunities to work with high-profile clients on challenging projects.
• Develop more junior team members and understand their career aspirations.
• Work with major market names on interesting, multi-jurisdictional real estate and infrastructure transactions (examples in the £60m, £250m, £500m ranges and deals over £1bn).
• Own your own work, lead client delivery, and engage with Real Estate and broader Tax teams; receive support from Partners and Directors as needed.

Qualifications

• CTA / ACA / ACCA / ATT qualified or equivalent qualification.
• UK corporate tax experience, ideally within the Real Estate sector.
• Experience monitoring junior team members’ work and coaching/career development.

Preferred skills and experience

• UK Real Estate market experience.
• Tax structuring for property purchases and sales in a tax-efficient manner.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Partners and Directors to build key account relationships.
• International tax advice and due diligence on cross-border transactions.
• Participation in business development initiatives and proposal activity.
• Tax compliance and ongoing tax requirements advisory for clients.
• Experience setting up property funds including UK Real Estate Investment Trusts.
