Job description

Are you ready to take the driver's seat in optimising product availability at City Plumbing's Primary Distribution Hub? We're on the lookout for a super skilled Supply Chain Stock Controller to spearhead our efforts in streamlining operations.

As a Supply Chain Stock Controller you will work to enhance product availability in the Primary Distribution Hub by implementing standardised processes within Blue Yonder Demand and Fulfilment. Additionally, you'll get involved by actively cultivating and managing strong relationships with the Commercial team and external suppliers.

This is a hybrid-based role, you should be based in the UK and within commutable distance to our Head Office based in Crick, Northamptonshire or our Primary Distribution Hub based in Warrington, Cheshire.

You’ll live and breathe our Customer First ethos, with an analytical and logical approach to problem-solving. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively with the wider Supply Chain team and you’ll thrive on delivering excellent results.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring reliable supplier availability through weighted metrics. This involves effectively managing stock levels and order frequencies to strike a precise equilibrium between inventory value, service quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Manage the supplier order book using the existing systems to optimise stock, whilst maintaining a lean and structured stock profile.
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain Customer & Supplier Manager to improve supplier relationships and efficiency. Address subpar supplier performance, identify opportunities for better stock management, cost savings, and service improvements. Manage supplier conformance and resolve issues promptly.
  • Responsible for the end to end product lifecycle management for assigned suppliers covering stock health, new product introduction, alternatives and end of life ensuring clear exit strategies are defined and actioned. Working alongside Commercial colleagues to support decisions, negotiations and trading plans.
  • Hold strong relationships with other supply chain colleagues, Commercial and assigned suppliers to drive the overall stock agenda, proactively identify opportunities and follow through to action.
  • Work cohesively with other Supply Chain Stock Controllers to provide support, training and cover as required. Taking a proactive approach and engaging in team activities.

  • Experience with the JDA / Blue Yonder forecasting tool would be an advantage.
