The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for leading supplier quality initiatives, ensuring that all materials, components, and products from suppliers meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and compliance. The role includes strategic oversight of supplier performance and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead supplier quality management activities, including supplier evaluation, audits, supporting supplier selection, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Develop and implement supplier quality strategies aligned with business objectives and industry standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers using tools such as root cause analysis.
- Analyze supplier quality data, identify trends, and recommend corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risk.
- Support New Product Introductions (NPI) to ensure suppliers meet design, process, and quality requirements.
- Mentor and share best practices and promote a culture of quality excellence.
- Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and many other teams to address supplier-related issues and enhance product quality.
- Lead supplier corrective action programs, track effectiveness, and expedite unresolved issues to senior management.
- Maintain compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO) and internal quality systems.
- Prepare executive-level reports on supplier quality performance and improvement initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in supplier quality engineering or manufacturing quality
- Quality certifications such as CQE, CQM, Six Sigma, or equivalent
- Experience with ERP, PLM, or supplier management systems
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
