A leading energy solutions provider is offering an Advanced Apprenticeship for a Substation Craftsperson in Sheffield. Over three years, you will learn various maintenance techniques and work with high-voltage equipment, ensuring reliability in the electricity supply. Successful candidates will achieve a Level 3 qualification and benefit from food and accommodation during training at the Eakring academy. Ideal for those with a knack for analytical and logical skills, this program prepares you for a vital role in the energy sector.
Our three-year Advanced Apprenticeship Substations programme will train you to become a craftsperson in our substations. Here, we transform high-voltage electricity into low-voltage electricity, making it usable for homes and businesses.
As a technician, you'll play a vital role in maintaining our substations and ensuring a safe and reliable electricity supply.
During the apprenticeship, you'll learn:
Your skills and expertise will contribute to the smooth operation of our substations and the overall electricity transmission network.
You must be able to live away from home; primarily at our Eakring academy in Nottinghamshire. Food and accommodation are provided as standard.
Due to the nature of this role, you'll need to live within a 45 minute drive of the following postcode: ME3 9NT.
Due to the nature of this role, applicants for this position must be at least 18 years of age by the start date of the programme (1st September 2026).
You must be willing to learn to drive and agree to secure a valid full UK car driving license within or before 12 months of starting.
By the end of the programme, you'll hold a Level 3 qualification as a Power Industry Substation Fitter, and most importantly, have a job waiting for you!
