We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join the team at HMP Risley, a Category C male prison located near Warrington. HMP Risley offers a fast paced, unique rewarding environment to learn and develop.

Join the Recovery Team and empower those whom wish to make changes in their behaviour to promote health and well-being through recovery from drugs and alcohol.

This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care.

Hours

This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Shifts are 8am - 4pm.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary of £29,264 - £33,510 dependent on experience.

What you’ll be doing

As our new Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

  • Delivering outstanding care to psychosocial patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback - ensuring that their care is personalised and tailored to the individual
  • Manage a caseload of patients (around 30-40) with varying needs, including substance misuse, mental health, trauma etc
  • Deliver group sessions on overdose awareness, harm reduction etc
  • Providing a programme of psychosocial interventions and comprehensive assessments
  • Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cessation, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices
  • Prepare patients for release and transfer
  • Delivering care on a 1-1 basis as well as group sessions

  • Have experience within Substance misuse, ideally a prison / secure environment, and ideally within a Recovery Worker / Practitioner role
