Qualifications

  • Design of aeronautical structures or equivalent high precision structural engineering projects.
  • Strong experience in stress calculation and checking using hand calculations or FEM tools.
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.

Job description
****Job Description:****We are currently looking for:Structures Test - Rig Design & Stress Engineer Location: Filton, Bristol Contract: Full time, permanent, 37.5 hours per week**Duties:*** Test Rig Concepts designed on time, cost & quality.* Prepare a pre-design (3D study) for specification release.* Perform detailed stress analysis activities* Lead work packages for external manufacturing and design to manufacture activities within the test centre perimeter* Integrate electrical, measurement and data system installation requirements.* Work with and be the key interface to other airbus business units & external test customers* Provide detailed designs and data transfer for manufacturing.* Ensure a configuration management of drawings and 3D data.* Provide specimen interface drawings.* Ensure test means interfaces are compliant with specimen loading areas.* Support acceptance of test means after manufacturing.* Provide expertise during the assembly of the test means in the laboratory.* Coordinate all internal and external contributors/stakeholders/suppliers.* Anticipate, identify and manage risks & opportunities.* Participate in the Test Centre and weekly team meetings.**Our requirements:*** Design of aeronautical structures or equivalent high precision structural engineering projects (e.g. civil, marine, test rigs)* 3D Design of complex engineering structures (CATIA V5 and/or 3DXperience).* Stress calculation and checking (hand calculations and/or FEM sizing tool).* Materials testing (optional)* Experience in managing suppliers or participating in supplier selection (optional)* Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or a related discipline (e.g. Aerospace, Structures, Materials, Physics).* Fluent in English, both written and spoken* Independent and structured way of working* Ability to work in a team, resilience, flexibility**Benefits*** Flexible working hours (flexi-time)* 25 days holidays + bank holidays with the option to purchase up to an additional 1 week* Pension scheme* Discretionary bonus scheme* Private Medical Insurance (PMI) employee cover only* Access to discount shipping platform**Contract:**End date for applicants: Tuesday 6th January 2026Interviews: From w/c 19th January 2026Start date: January 2026Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 dependant on experience This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.********Company:********Testia Limited**Contract Type:**Permanent-------**Experience Level:**Professional**Job Family:**Testing By submitting your CV or application you are consenting to Airbus using and storing information about you for monitoring purposes relating to your application or future employment.
