The Role

Are you ready to kick-start your career in engineering or take the next step as an experienced professional?

We’re looking for motivated individuals with a passion for structural engineering and a drive to learn and innovate. This is your chance to work on complex, cutting-edge projects that make a real impact, while gaining hands-on experience and mentorship from industry experts. You’ll support the Royal Navy Submarine Fleet across Structures, Naval Architecture, Seamanship, Outfitting, and Design Change disciplines.

Day-to-day, you’ll work on a wide range of projects involving submarine structures across the defence sector, with fantastic opportunities to learn and develop professionally. Your role will include:

  • Structural assessments using hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis
  • Design and assessment for explosive shock survivability
  • Technical investigations and feasibility studies
  • Management and assessment of structural defects
  • Structural safety certification and support to future platform projects

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Structures Engineer

Qualifications for the Structures Engineer

  • Degree qualified in a STEM discipline (or equivalent experience).
