The Role

This full‑time, band 6 physiotherapy post within surgical and critical care at University Hospital Wishaw represents a fantastic opportunity to join a high performing, supportive and proactive team. The surgical physiotherapy team covers critical care, general surgery wards and amputee outpatient service. The team focuses on quality service delivery, patient‑centred interventions and team well‑being.

You will get the opportunity to clinically supervise band 5 physiotherapists and physiotherapy support workers, and provide clinical education to physiotherapy students on placement. The successful candidate will join the on‑call physiotherapy rota for UHW.

What we’ll need you to bring
  • Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
  • Post‑graduate expertise within specialty / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty / area of practice
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the specialty/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within the specialty / area of practice
  • Leadership­development skills to enable day‑to‑day management of service delivery
  • Further education/evidence of wirk. Continuous Professional Development in area of specialty including study days/courses/post‑graduate qualification
  • The post holder will possess excellent team‑working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
  • Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology

  • Membership of relevant special interest group
