Overview

The impressive brand-new Everton Stadium, located on Bramley-Moore dock, Liverpool, is set to be one of the most revolutionary and advanced venues for fan experience in Europe. Serving 52,888 fans per matchday, the mission is to set the standard for excellence and create exceptional experiences for Evertonians and non-match day visitors to the site.

We currently have an opportunity for a number of Casual Sommeliers to join our amazing team at Aramark who are delivering all food and beverage services into Everton Stadium.

The role of a sommelier will be working closely with the restaurant team to advise wines that complement the food menu and provide customers with exceptional wine experiences. The sommelier must be able to provide training to educate restaurant and bar staff about wines and service.

They will ensure the smooth delivery of all wine beverage services within the Everton Stadium located on Bramley Moore Dock, Liverpool to all our clients and customers. This is a role for someone who is passionate about wine, knowledgeable, focuses on the guest experience each matchday and shows considerable attention to detail.

Your area of responsibility for bars cover several exceptional entertainment and several concepts in fast paced a la carte restaurants.

What you’ll be doing:

• To follow health & safety in the heart of everything you do and lead a health & safety culture. You will also demonstrate taking responsibility for your own health & safety and that of others.
• To ensure you are fully aware of the importance of all allergens passed on from supervisor/manager on match-days.
• Must have knowledge of alcohol laws and regulations, strong attention to detail and organisation.
• To act with a sense of urgency to assist guests and team members.
• To stay informed about trends in the wine industry and new offerings.
• Oversee inventory control, wine storage and ensure constant rotation of stock.
• To have basic bar knowledge of setting up stations and breakdown responsibilities as well as delivering a premium service.
• Undertake and other duty deemed reasonable by management to meet the demands of the business.
• Make an outstanding guest experience in all premium outlets in the stadium.
• To be approachable with good interpersonal skills and to have an extensive wine knowledge and understand allergens; must have the ability to pair and make recommendations.
• Must have the ability to hold wine tastings or educational sessions for staff.
• Proactively engage with guests and clients on match-days to ensure a first-class premium experience is delivered. Must also drive wine sales by promoting wine features and upselling premium options to guests.
• To support with addressing any guest or client feedback promptly on match-day and passing on any feedback to supervisor/manager to implement improvements where necessary.
• Ensure all match day procedures are maintained and monitored, and all stock sheets are assessed throughout the day, making sure stock transfers, wastage, are checked and signed off.

You\'ll be set up for success if you have:

• You must have certification from a recognised education programme and have previous experience in working in fine dining as a sommelier or similar role.
• You must possess and flexible & adaptable approach to working hours/duties. Must have attention to detail and a passion for the wine industry.
• You should be calm and resiliant, not deterred by an ‘unforeseen challenge’, problem solving and effectively be a team player.
• Must have standard knowledge of restaurant and bar efficiency.
• You should have strong attention to detail, structured and methodical with the flexibility to respond to the dynamic demands of all matchday requests.
• Willing to work evenings and weekends as and when required.
