Software Delivery Manager (Manchester - Hybrid)

About Lenders

Finova offers a flexible, modular technology suite designed to help lenders move faster, scale efficiently and deliver standout digital experiences. What will you be doing?
  • Support two software engineering teams working on the same goal, ensuring agility while meeting commitments.
  • Collaborate with Client Delivery managers who run our client implementations (large enterprise SaaS).
  • Coaching and mentoring the teams on best practices around continual improvement, backlog management, working practices, exploration techniques, etc.
  • Ensure all practices are sustainable and valuable.
  • Own and follow up on action items from retrospectives.
  • Manage stakeholders at all levels and communicate the current state, not just aspirations.
  • Drive pragmatic decision‑making while setting realistic boundaries.
  • Manage risk and mitigation.
  • Partner with the Director of Software Delivery Management to own and manage budgets.
  • Build and nurture a new team with XP, CI/CD, serverless, TDD and “you build it, you run it” principles.
About You
  • Passionate about improving delivery of high‑quality, reliable, and market‑leading software.
  • Experience in transparent project management that demands simplicity and predictability.
  • Strong communicator who keeps everyone informed to enable quick, well‑informed decisions.
  • Proven Agile delivery expertise and ability to apply techniques in real‑world settings.
  • Comfortable supporting multiple engineering teams and guiding new or forming teams.
  • Fluent in modern engineering practices (XP, CI/CD, TDD, serverless).
  • Natural coach who enhances backlog management, working practices, exploration techniques, and retrospective ownership.
  • Transparent stakeholder communication and clear delivery vision.
  • Evidence‑based decision making, balancing ambition with predictability and sustainability.
  • Proactive risk, dependency and delivery challenge management.
  • Experience managing budgets and understanding commercial impact of delivery decisions.
  • Facilitation skills using techniques such as Google Design Sprints, Event Storming, Jobs To Be Done.
  • Enthusiastic about fostering positive team culture and engaging delivery processes.
