Job summary

The Health and Social Care Organization is seeking a Social Worker for Kinship Care in Midmill. This part-time position involves conducting initial and formal assessments for Kinship Care, identifying support needs for Carers, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Ideal candidates will have a Social Work Qualification and experience in child welfare assessments. This is a permanent role with a competitive salary range and a work pattern from Monday to Thursday.

To identify the support needs of Kinship Carers and ensure the provision of direct support in line with the needs of Carers and placed children.To carry out duties in line with the requirements of the Children Act (Scotland) Act 1995, Getting it Right for Every Child in Kinship and Foster Care, Looked After Children (Scotland) Regulations 2009, Adoption and Children (Scotland) Act 2007 & the Children & Young People (Scotland) Act 2014. Service to be provided in the community, individuals’ homes and office on a confidential basis. To work within Aberdeenshire Council’s procedures and guidance for Kinship Carers and Looked After Children.There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.Work pattern: Monday-Thursday.Expected date of interview: 10 February 2026.Whilst the office base for the post is a school the post is a social work post.
