Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) Social Worker – South Dorset, UK – Up to £35.00 per hour – Full Time – Temporary – Hybrid/Remote

We are seeking a Community Mental Health Social Worker to join the CMHT in South Dorset. This full-time locum role offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £35.00, depending on experience, with hybrid working—two days in the office per week and the remainder remote. What You Will Do
  • Conduct strengths-based assessments, support planning, and reviews to promote independence and positive outcomes.
  • Perform Mental Capacity Assessments and participate in Mental Health Act engagements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues including CMHN, OTs, Psychologists, and Psychiatrists.
  • Complete S117 assessments and reviews as required.
  • Identify carers’ needs and provide assessment support.
  • Take leadership roles and contribute to service development within the community mental health service.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledgeable in key legislation: Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 2007, Human Rights Act 1998, Equality Act 2010.
  • Committed to continuous professional growth and embodies responsibility, respect, recognition, and collaboration.
  • Holds a social work qualification (degree), registered with Social Work England, and able to pass an Enhanced DBS for children and adults.
