Veterinary Surgeon – Stunning Perthshire

An established, RCVS-accredited small animal and equine practice in beautiful Perthshire – recently voted the 5th best place to live in the UK – is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their supportive and progressive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, values strong client relationships, and thrives on delivering excellent clinical care. For those keen to develop further, there is also scope to progress into a Senior or Clinical Director role.

About the Role

The successful candidate will benefit from clinical freedom, a varied caseload, and the support of a highly skilled nursing team and experienced colleagues, including two trained VetGDP advisors.

Facilities & Caseload

The purpose-built practice offers:

  • Six consult rooms
  • Imaging suite and dental suite with dental x-ray
  • Two theatres and endoscopy
  • Multiparameter monitoring and anaesthetic equipment
  • In-house lab for bloods, urinalysis, and cytology
    Visiting orthopaedic and soft tissue specialists also support more complex cases.
Working Life & Support
  • OOH rota 1:5 – with a day off after a weeknight on call and a long weekend following an on-call weekend
  • 24/7 nurse support on-site for triage, emergencies, and inpatient care
  • Diaries designed to support balance:
  • 15-minute routine consults
  • Double appointments for complex cases
  • Emergency slots reserved daily
  • Built-in catch-up time before finishing
  • Three early finishes at 5pm each week
  • Time back in lieu for any rare overtime worked
