Job summary

A leading fire protection firm based in Birmingham is seeking a Site Manager with expertise in fire doors. You will be responsible for maintaining health and safety standards, implementing project strategies, and managing equipment requirements. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills and relevant certifications including CSCS and SMSTS. This position offers a competitive salary of £45,000 to £55,000 plus an excellent benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Experience in passive fire protection for compartmentation and/or fire doors.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain health, safety and environmental management standards.
  • Implement project strategies to achieve company objectives.
  • Prepare project programmes in collaboration with the Contracts Manager.
  • Liaise with the operational team for high contract standards.
  • Produce project programmes and control procedures for timely delivery.
  • Induct operatives to site-specific requirements.
  • Manage equipment and subcontract requirements for projects.

Job description

I'm looking for a Site Manager to join an award‑winning fire protection business based in Birmingham.

Key Requirement
  • You must have fire doors experience.
Role Responsibilities
  • Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management.
  • Implementing project strategies to achieve the company objectives.
  • Collaboratively with the Contracts Manager, prepare the project programme and review and revise in line with budget requirements.
  • Liaising closely with the whole operational team to ensure a high standard of contract set up, smooth delivery and handover.
  • Producing and developing project programmes and control procedures to achieve delivery of the project on time, within planned costs.
  • Inducting operatives to the Checkmate Way and site‑specific requirements.
  • Ensuring all on‑site practices are being adhered to and in line with CheckSafe.
  • Agree and manage equipment, plant and subcontract requirements for projects.
Experience Required
  • Passive fire protection experience in either compartmentation and/or fire doors.
  • Experience as a Site Manager.
  • Customer/client liaison and confident and professional communicator.
  • Ability to chair and run meetings and provide regular updates.
  • Use of Microsoft Office suite; incl. Excel, Word, Outlook and Project.
Qualifications Required
  • CSCS card at Site Manager level.
  • Valid SMSTS.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • 3‑day First Aid.
  • Valid scaffold appreciation certificate – desirable.
