THE ROLE SEO Copywriter – Scotland

Job Overview We’re looking for a talented SEO Copywriter to join our dynamic, fast-paced team. Reporting directly to the Digital Marketing Manager, you’ll work closely with colleagues across marketing, events and business development, ensuring cohesive strategies and shared goals. This role involves creating optimised, conversion-focused content that strengthens our online visibility, supports paid campaign performance, and keeps our websites fresh, accurate, and engaging. This role is perfect for someone who blends creativity with analytical thinking - understanding not just how to write for people, but also how to write for search. This is an opportunity to contribute to a hardworking and collaborative environment, delivering on ambitious marketing initiatives with a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write SEO-optimised copy for service pages, sector pages, blogs, and landing pages. Build content around keyword maps, search intent, and topical ensuring each piece is aligned with our SEO strategy and brand tone.
  • Continuously refine and expand existing website content to strengthen keyword alignment and improve discoverability. Use SEO insights to prioritise updates that enhance clarity, relevance, and engagement across key service and sector pages.
  • Adapt content to appear in AI Overviews, featured snippets, and conversational search results. Incorporate target questions, semantic keywords, and natural phrasing to maximise our visibility in emerging AI search formats.
  • Apply conversion-focused writing techniques – including clear CTAs, persuasive headlines, and benefit-driven messaging – to improve engagement and conversion rates. Use insights from GA4 and PPC data to strengthen messaging and landing page performance.
  • Create compelling, keyword-aligned articles that build topical authority and support backlink opportunities. Collaborating with subject matter experts across the business, turn complex insights into clear, engaging, and shareable content that reinforces our expertise.
  • Produce content that re-engages existing audiences and supports lead nurturing, including reactivation blogs, case study summaries, and email copy. Strengthen client relationships, encourage repeat engagement, and drive qualified leads through the funnel.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in SEO Copywriting, ideally in a B2B or professional services environment
  • Strong understanding of keyword intent, on-page optimisation and content structure for SEO
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to create content that balances SEO performance with brand tone and conversion goals
  • Proactive, results-driven mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Detail oriented with strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient use of MS Office packages and Teams

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in a fast-paced/growth environment
  • Experience with WordPress, SEMrush and HubSpot desired but not essential
  • Ability to engage with a range of stakeholders and team members
  • Proactive and positive attitude to problem solving and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
