Job summary

A dynamic design consultancy in Birmingham is seeking a talented Senior Urban Designer to join their team. This full-time, permanent role involves preparing and overseeing urban design and planning work for residential and mixed-use projects. The ideal candidate will have a relevant design qualification, experience in private practice or consultancy, and strong interpersonal skills. Job Overview

Are you a talented Senior Urban Designer looking to join a dynamic design service team in Birmingham? Pegasus Group is recruiting for a full‑time, permanent position across our offices, welcoming expertise at all design levels.

Responsibilities

As part of our Design team you will prepare and oversee conceptual urban design and planning work, including feasibility studies, master planning, development briefs, and design strategies for residential and mixed‑use schemes for developers and private clients.

Qualifications
  • Hold a relevant qualification in design.
  • Experience working within private practice, consultancy, or a commercial housebuilding operation.
  • Visioning and masterplanning for sites of all scales.
  • A commercially astute approach to residential layout design.
  • Producing drawn and written information to support outline, full and reserved matters planning applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and interdisciplinary skills.
  • Self‑motivated with an excellent eye for detail.
  • Working knowledge of planning system elements that affect design and ability to adapt to local authority design guidance.
  • Knowledge of CAD software packages.
  • Experience in Vectorworks (CAD) is an advantage.
