A leading consultancy firm is seeking a full-time Senior Transport Planner or Principal Transport Planner based in the UK. This role involves development-related transport planning, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to various projects for public and private sector clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, knowledge of UK transport principles, and experience in client relationships. This position offers hybrid working and competitive compensation.
We are seeking a full-time Principal Transport Planner or Senior Transport Planner for our Transport North team, based in either Newcastle or Leeds, with hybrid working that allows a mix of in‑office and home‑working.

Our clients typically include housing and commercial developers, local authorities, highway authorities, architects, town‑planners and other professionals.
Your work will primarily involve development‑related transport planning, including the preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, transport chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments and other development‑related transport reports. You will help mentor and support junior staff, stay up‑to‑date with current practices and guidelines, undertake site visits, attend meetings, and assist with client liaison such as attending meetings and preparing fee proposals. Full support will be provided on a day‑to‑day basis by an experienced transport planning professional.
Degree or Masters in a relevant subject (e.g. transport planning, civil engineering, geography). Professional accreditation, such as CIHT, CILT, TPP, or ICE.
