Senior Technical Buyer – 3-Month Contract

Location: Silverstone, UK

Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (3 Months)

Rate: £350 - £400 a day

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Buyer to join a leading Formula 1 team on a 3-month contract, based at their world-class facility in Silverstone.

This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented procurement professional with experience sourcing and purchasing technical components within composite or metallic manufacturing environments.

You’ll play a key role in supporting build and development activities by ensuring the timely supply of critical materials and components for ongoing F1 projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the procurement of materials, components, and assemblies to meet production and engineering requirements.
  • Liaise closely with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure on-time delivery and quality compliance.
  • Negotiate prices, lead times, and terms to support cost and schedule objectives.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders within the company’s ERP system.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier performance and material traceability.
  • Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and supplier relationships.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Technical Buyer within motorsport, aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering sectors.
  • Metallic materials experience – essential.
  • Proficient with ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or Epicor – desirable.
  • Strong commercial acumen, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Immediate availability or short notice period preferred.
