Job summary

A local charity organization in Bedford is looking for a Senior Team Leader to manage the Loads of Autistic Fun group. You will oversee a team of staff and volunteers, plan activities, and ensure the welfare of participants. Ideal candidates will have experience in health, education, or social care, as well as knowledge of autism. This part-time role offers £15.06 per hour and runs on Saturday mornings during term time.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience and qualifications in health, education, or social care.
  • Ability to manage and support a staff team.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan scheduled activities for the group.
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are followed.
  • Oversee the welfare of staff, volunteers, and service users.

Job description

Part-Time: Saturday mornings during term-time 9:00am-1:30pm

£15.06 per hour.

About L.O.A.F

Loads of Autistic Fun (or L.O.A.F. for short) is a Saturday morning activity group which the whole family can attend. It runs fortnightly during term time from 9:45am to 1pm and provides an inclusive environment where all children up to age 12 (those with autism and their siblings) and their parents/carers are welcome and supported by trained staff and volunteers.

About you

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Team Leader to manage and run our Loads of Autistic Fun group in Bedford. The role will include managing a staff team and organising, planning and supervising sessions.

Applicants will need to have relevant experience & qualifications:

  • Experience of Health/Education/Social Care Roles.
  • Experience of Managing Challenging Behaviour.
  • Knowledge of Autism.
  • Knowledge of Asperger’s Syndrome.
  • GCSEs or Equivalent Qualifications.
  • Health/Education/Social Care Qualifications (Level 3).

Main Duties:

  • Planning for scheduled activities.
  • Health & Safety.
  • Welfare of staff, volunteers and service users
  • First Aid and accident reporting.
  • Fire and Emergency procedures.
  • Support and promote Safeguarding.
  • Manage and support Team Leaders, paid staff and volunteers.
  • Administration and other duties.
