Job description
Senior SSAS Administrator – Interim

Location: Bristol | Hours: 35 hours a week (Full‑time), Monday to Friday with opportunity to become hybrid.

Role Overview

We have a new position open for an interim Senior SSAS Administrator to joinley Pensions on our Payroll team.

Responsibilities
  • Allocate daily posts to the team and log entries.
  • Handle all aspects of SSAS administration: new business requests, retirements, transfers in, transfers out, deaths, loans, investments, etc.
  • Provide technical and administration support to the SSAS Administration Team.
  • Submit SSAS & SIPP HMRC annual scheme returns, SIPP return of annual information, and any required event reports.
  • Complete and submit SA970 tax claims to HMRC for SSAS schemes that have paid tax on their scheme investments.
  • Submit Pensions Regulator scheme returns within required timescales.
  • Ensure all schemes are registered with the Information Commissioner and manage annual renewals.
  • Submit FCA Gabriel Returns for the SIPP schemes, including Complaints, Product Sales Report, etc.
  • Communicate with clients, solicitors, accountants, and intermediaries via email, phone, or in writing.
  • Process payments from scheme accounts, ensuring compliance with the Client Money policy.
  • Prepare and manage the SIPP Annual Reviews to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor team workloads and performance, reporting any discrepancies.
  • Identify and highlight areas for improvement and assist in process and procedure preparation.
  • Carry out any other duties as reasonably required.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of SSAS schemes from inception to transfer out.
  • Self‑organised with strong numeracy and literacy skills and a keen eye for detail.
