Job description

Senior Social Worker | 9494 | Secondment Opportunity for 6 Months | 37 hours per week | £43,822 to £48,227 per annum | Grade K | County Hall / Countywide

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a 6-month secondment, starting as soon as possible, for a Senior Social Worker to join the Kinship Assessment Team.

We are a countywide team specialising in assessing family members and connected people to become foster carers and/or Special Guardians for children who cant live with their parents. We work closely with frontline teams, NPLaw and the Norfolk Fostering Service to undertake initial viability assessments and Special Guardianship and connected persons fostering assessments to provide recommendations to the Court and Fostering Panel.

We are a busy team, so it is essential that applicants have strength in planning their work and personal organisation, applicants need to be flexible and have the ability to travel all across Norfolk and out of county where this is required. The majority of our work comes from the Court, so experience of writing assessments within a safeguarding context and knowledge and experience in care proceedings is essential.

The work we undertake is unique and an integral part of care planning for children, we work in a creative and supportive way with kinship carers to secure family placements for children where this is safe and in their best interests.
