Purpose of the Role

To deliver high-quality social work practice within the Children in Need, Child Protection, and Court Work service, ensuring that children and families receive timely, effective, and outcome-focused support. Key Responsibilities

• Manage a reduced caseload of complex and high-risk Children in Need, Child Protection, and Court cases.
• Undertake thorough assessments and produce high-quality, evidence-based reports for court proceedings.
• Lead interventions that safeguard children and support families to achieve sustainable positive outcomes.
• Provide professional guidance, mentorship, and modelling of best practice to less experienced social workers.
• Act as a lead practitioner in complex safeguarding cases, exercising sound professional judgement and risk management.
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to promote integrated and effective support for vulnerable families.
• Contribute to service development through participation in audits, reflective practice sessions, and quality assurance activities.
