Job summary

A leading energy provider in the UK is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role involves managing project costs, contracts, and risks while mentoring junior colleagues. You will ensure that all construction projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high standards. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying and extensive experience in large-scale construction projects, preferably within the utilities sector. Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience in construction, ideally within utilities or large-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC 3 or 4 contracts.
  • Leadership abilities with a track record of managing contracts.
  • Experience managing and mentoring Junior Quantity Surveyors.
  • Main Works Contractor experience.
  • Chartered Member of RICS (MRICS).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Project Managers to manage contractual relationships.
  • Oversee multiple contracts ensuring compliance and value.
  • Track spend and forecast costs aligned with contract terms.
  • Drive the risk management process and maintain the Risk Register.
  • Support tender evaluation and negotiation.
  • Lead efforts to resolve disputes professionally.
  • Support/mentor Junior Quantity Surveyors.
