Senior/Principal/Associate Civil/Structural Engineer

We have an expanding portfolio of projects in the energy and industrial sectors and are seeking an experienced Civil or Structural Engineer to join our multidisciplinary Industry and Infrastructure Facilities team. You will lead the structural design of buildings in energy and industrial projects, assist in upskilling team members, ensure structural integrity, and optimize designs.

The role is primarily office-based with hybrid working options, located in our offices in Manchester, London, Leeds, Chester, Southampton, or Bristol. Occasional travel to client and project sites will be required.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing structural engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Following project delivery models such as FEED/FEL, DED, OE stages.
  • Designing structural systems for energy and industrial facilities, including manufacturing buildings, substations, power stations, and infrastructure.
  • Conducting structural analysis and detailed design to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance.
  • Developing engineering solutions to enhance performance and optimize costs.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including architectural, mechanical, electrical, and process engineers.
  • Preparing technical documentation, reports, and proposals.
  • Mentoring and upskilling junior engineers.
  • Staying updated with industry trends and technologies.
  • Supporting business development and tender activities.

Qualifications & experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Chartered Engineer status with IStructE or ICE.
  • Minimum of 7 years (Senior/Principal) or 10 years (Associate) of industry experience in structural engineering, particularly in energy and industrial projects.
  • Experience with substation design and energy sector standards.
