Job Title: Social Work Advanced Practitioner – Children Exploitation Team

Location: Middlesbrough, UK

Salary: £35.49 per hour

Contract Type: Ongoing Locum – Full Time or Part Time

Join a dynamic and dedicated Children Exploitation Team in Middlesbrough, supporting vulnerable children at risk of or experiencing exploitation. This locum role offers a hybrid working arrangement (two days in-office) and the flexibility to respond to escalating concerns, alongside a very manageable caseload. An Enhanced DBS for Working with Children is required prior to starting.

Purpose of the Role

To provide expert social work practice within the Children Exploitation Team, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and protection of children at risk of exploitation. You will carry out assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions, and provide guidance to colleagues, while working collaboratively with partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough assessments and develop tailored care plans for children at risk of exploitation.

Implement interventions to safeguard children and support their development.

Provide expert guidance and support to colleagues within the Children Exploitation Team.

Collaborate with multi-agency partners to ensure a holistic safeguarding approach.

Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and best practices.

Respond promptly to escalating concerns, providing professional advice and intervention as needed.

Person Specification

Registered Social Worker with Social Work England.

Post-qualifying experience in safeguarding children, ideally with exposure to exploitation cases.

Proven ability to manage complex, high-risk cases effectively.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and multi-agency collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently while adhering to statutory requirements.
