GEOAmey is a 50:50 joint venture company from GEO inc based in the United States, one of the worlds largest correctional services provider and Amey, one of the largest infrastructures and consulting companies in the UK. GEOAmey provide court custody and escorting services for the Scottish Prison Service for the whole of Scotland and also in England and Wales on behalf of the Ministry of Justice.
Main Purpose:
At GEOAmey, we provide a vital public service through the safe and secure transportation and custody services for adults and young people across the UK.
The people in your care will have a variety of different needs and it will be your role to ensure those individuals are treated with dignity and respect whilst maintaining a safe, secure and structured environment. You will be responsible for the physical and mental wellbeing of those in your care, ensuring their health, safety and wellbeing are a priority.
As a Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the profitable delivery of a devolved profit and loss account, within service and contractual requirements, to deliver overall profitability and service for the relevant court cluster and for GEOAmey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall operation of your court cluster to meet profit targets within the devolved P&L account.
- Understand key profit drivers and direct all efforts to ensuring a profitable return from the court cluster.
- Understand the operation, the planning process and all other business system processes and ensure consistent application of GEOAmey SOP’s across the area.
- Achieve service standards as stipulated in the contract.
- Develop excellent understanding of the contract to ensure best value for GEOAmey.
- Manage, motivate and lead GEOAmey employees to maximise their performance and productivity.
- Ensure all employees working in your area of responsibility are fully aware of company policies, procedures and contractual requirements.
- Work as part of the regional team towards the achievement of the region and GEOAmey’s objectives.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders including MOJ, court employees, prison staff and governors in order to influence them positively towards supporting GEOAmey’s objectives.
- Lead on performance and contract management of cluster.
- Encourage team to constantly strive for higher standards.
- Manage the operational team within the cluster to deliver the contract expectations, contract KPI’s and overall performance objectives.
- Gives specific feedback to help improve performance, and works hard through honest conversations to improve areas of underperformance.
- Sets high personal standards by example.
- Ensures procedures are carried out in an accurately and timely way.
- Management knowledge and experience within cost and profit targets.
- Develop an understanding of the GEOAmey contract and work to achieve profitability within your cluster.
People & Performance
- Delivery of strategic “People Plans” for cluster with a focus on succession planning, talent mapping and performance management.
- Line manages the Operational Management Team within cluster.
- Contribute to meeting the strategic objectives of GEOAmey by driving the performance of the cluster.
- Work with HR team to foster a proactive employee relations and engagement culture, including where applicable relationships with recognised trade unions.
- Creates a climate of participation, trust and respect.
- Communicate with internal staff and external agencies to ensure compliance with performance targets and strategic objectives.

- Evaluates and monitors the delivery of services to maintain health & safety of employees, those in our care and other agencies at our locations.
- Promotes a high standard of safe working practices with all employees in order to ensure awareness of their own personal safety at all times.
- Ensures the implementation of policies relating to health & safety.
- Demonstrates and applies knowledge of risk assessments in the workplace.
- Is compliant with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Produces accurate and timely business information as required.
- Achieves targets ensuring continuous improvements, all the time keeping this in line with profit requirements.

Vetting:
