Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment firm seeks a Mechanical Project Manager in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The role involves overseeing mechanical services for commercial developments, ensuring projects are delivered safely and to high standards. Ideal candidates will have over 5 years of experience, relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, and strong leadership skills. Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience managing mechanical services projects.
  • Experience delivering commercial office projects, new build or fit out.
  • SMSTS, CSCS Manager Card, and First Aid certifications desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage mechanical building services projects in commercial environments.
  • Prepare and maintain project programmes and resource schedules.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all project documentation is delivered to clients.
  • Manage procurement of plant and equipment.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with CDM regulations.

Skills

Technical expertise in mechanical services for commercial office environments

Ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications
Commercial awareness and understanding of JCT/NEC contracts
Proficient in project management software

Education

Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
