About the role

The University of Lancashire wishes to recruit a Senior IT/AV Technician to join our Learning and Information Services team based on our Preston campus.

The role will provide support for a range of AV/IT, multimedia and associated technology enabled approaches to teaching and learning. The successful candidate will be required to install and maintain a diverse range of Audio-Visual facilities across the University and will be required to support staff and students in the implementation and use of a range of learning technologies, including web conferencing activities and event support.

About you

The ideal candidate will be naturally inquisitive, with a broad range of relevant technical skills and experience that they are able to apply across varied situations. You will be confident working, able to set your own priorities, be able to communicate effectively.

Extensive experience in AV and IT technical support within a customer‑facing environment is essential, as is the ability to instruct and demonstrate the use of IT and AV equipment. Additionally, the successful candidate must be familiar with interpreting and designing technical schematics, applying this knowledge to support equipment setup, troubleshooting, and system development.

The ability to adapt your knowledge to support a wide range of academic disciplines would be a significant advantage.

A Levels or equivalent experiential learning in a related discipline are required for this role.
