Job summary

A leading energy-from-waste operator in the UK is seeking a Health & Safety leader to shape safety culture at its Parc Adfer facility. This role involves driving compliance, managing contractors, and leading risk assessments. The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership background, relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH, and experience in power generation. Qualifications

  • A track record of positively shaping thinking and behaviour.
  • Take accountability and drive actions through to completion.
  • Conversant with CDM, Permit-to-Work and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Experience managing large contractor populations.
  • Background in engineering or hands-on experience in power generation.
  • Practical experience with ISO 45001/18001 auditing.
  • Clear, pragmatic communicator.

Responsibilities

  • Drive positive behavioural change across the plant.
  • Provide independent governance of site SHEQ matters.
  • Partner with managers to build understanding of SHEQ practice.
  • Plan and oversee activities for 50+ contractors.
  • Champion CDM regulations and maintain documentation.
  • Own internal audits and support certification to ISO standards.
  • Lead risk assessments and identify trends.
