What you’ll be doing
  • In this role within Brit’s Group Reporting team, you’ll be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting items for the group and its subsidiaries.
  • You’ll play a key part in supporting the production of the quarterly Brit Group Holdings Limited consolidation and financial reporting submissions to Fairfax via OneStream, as well as contributing to the preparation of both Group and subsidiary Financial Statements.
  • You’ll provide technical knowledge, advice and expertise to the business on all aspects of financial accounting, and you’ll be involved in supporting the implementation of the Workday general ledger and consolidation system. Your input will be valued in the Finance budget process, particularly in areas such as share-based payments and leases.
  • Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with the Group Reporting Senior Manager to produce the quarterly Brit Group Holdings Limited group consolidation model under IFRS 4 and IFRS 17, managing processes and deputising for the Senior Manager when required. You’ll lead on technical accounting matters and team management and support the preparation of the quarterly President’s Report.
  • You’ll contribute to the Group’s half year report and annual consolidated financial statements, reviewing disclosures submitted by other teams where necessary. Managing the process of preparing the Group’s subsidiary financial statements will be a key part of your remit, whether you’re preparing or reviewing certain entity financial statements or coordinating their preparation by relevant owners.
  • You’ll oversee the preparation of monthly MI pack submissions on FX and share-based payments, and you’ll be involved in researching new accounting standards (IFRS and UK GAAP), implementing necessary changes across the Group and its companies. Working with the Financial Operations Senior Manager, you’ll ensure the general ledger is appropriately maintained and developed.
  • You’ll develop and maintain procedures manuals for your areas of responsibility, reviewing documentation prepared by any direct reports, and you’ll discharge your duties in respect of Financial Controls. You’ll also support the implementation of the Workday general ledger and consolidation system, and you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in ad hoc projects, sometimes leading them where appropriate.
