What You\'ll Do

We are looking for a Senior Field Event Manager to lead Avalara\'s EMEA third-party event strategy, ensuring seamless execution of trade shows and field events across multiple geographies. You will utilise your event marketing expertise, project management skills, and collaboration to provide customer-focused events aligned with Avalara\'s goals. Occasionally this will include regional user conferences, customer and partner roundtable events. You will report to the Senior Director of Marketing.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be
  • Event Planning: You will lead end-to-end event management, from budgeting, logistics, and vendor coordination to on-site execution and performance analysis.
  • Strategic Leadership: You will develop the EU event strategy, ensuring understanding of marketing goals while driving effectiveness.
  • Partner Collaboration: You will work with our teams, partners, and vendors to guarantee a cohesive approach to event execution.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: You will track indicators, analyze performance, and provide insights to enhance event impact.
  • Process Optimization: You will evaluate and refine event management processes for scalability and effectiveness.
  • Demand generation mindset: Ensure all field events have a positive return on investment and pipeline generation, owning all field and partner event execution from planning, execution to lead upload and follow-up to ensure results.
  • Team Leadership: You will not have direct managerial responsibilities but will guide the EMEA Field Events Team, promoting collaboration and best practices.
  • Collaboration & Presentations: You will work with several teams, explaining the strategy, plan and execution plus performance to sales and executive leaders in QBRs and other meetings.
What You\'ll Need To Be Successful
  • 8+ years of experience managing large-scale B2B events in the UK/EU.
  • Experience leading event strategy within a scaling SaaS organisation.
  • A demand generation mindset with project and budget management experience.
  • Expertise in using Salesforce, PowerBI, Allocadia or similar, and marketing automation tools.
  • Experience in Indirect Tax, compliance, e-commerce, ERP would be beneficial.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, showing accountability to meet deliverables.
  • Fluency in English plus additional European languages would be beneficial.
