Job description
Who we're looking for

An expert in technical delivery, a Senior Technical Consultant, is expected to take responsibility for owning aspects of the delivery. Working in conjunction with the Technical Team Lead to drive and deliver high quality solutions on time and to budget. Areas of responsibility will vary and will largely be dictated by the resource profile of the project. Areas may include management of resources aligned with the project, mentoring junior members of the team, building relationships with customers, managing expectations and establishing delivery timelines.

A Senior Technical Consultant will be a trusted technical resource the Technical Team Lead can entrust to run point on projects to ensure they are delivered on‑time, to budget, and demonstrate the practices’ ability to deliver class leading data solutions.

We work with a Winning from Anywhere® approach but there is an element of travel to client sites when required, along with travel to our company conference and events.

What you'll be delivering
  • Deliver end-to-end data solutions, including acquisition, engineering, modelling, analysis, and visualisation.
  • Lead client workshops, gather requirements, and communicate effectively on business and technical levels.
  • Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data lakes using Microsoft Azure technologies (Fabric, Databricks, Synapse).
  • Migrate on‑premises SQL Server solutions to the cloud and build robust, future‑ready architectures.
  • Create insightful dashboards and reports with Power BI to help clients unlock data‑driven decisions.
  • Own delivery workstreams, manage resources, and mentor team members to drive knowledge sharing.
  • Build strong client relationships, manage expectations, and ensure timely, high‑quality delivery aligned with best practices.
We think you'll be successful in this role if you have some of the following
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with clients and team members, fostering collaboration and inclusion.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience in Data Engineering or Data Warehouse development using Azure/Microsoft and SQL Server technologies.
  • Proficiency in designing ETL/ELT processes with Azure tools (Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Fabric), plus SQL and Python expertise.
  • Solid knowledge of data lake implementation, medallion architecture, and handling large, complex datasets.
  • Advanced skills in SQL/Python (queries, stored procedures, notebooks) and familiarity with MDX/DAX for Analysis Services.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and strong understanding of BI and data warehousing concepts.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and delivery skills, with certifications (Microsoft DP‑600/DP‑700 or Databricks) considered a plus.
