A leading healthcare service in Gateshead is seeking a Senior Clinical Pharmacist to lead pharmacy services in the urgent and emergency care sectors. An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead, develop and participate in specialist clinical pharmacy services within the Urgent and Emergency Care service at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated senior clinical pharmacist to provide expert advice on medicines and ensure safe, effective and high quality care to patients within the fast-paced emergency care setting.
The successful candidate will work within the urgent care MDT, providing specialist clinical pharmacy advice to support the patient journey. This includes accident and emergency, same day emergency care and urgent treatment centres.
Key responsibilities include medicines reconciliation, prescribing, supporting administration of time critical medication and facilitating timely discharge. You will work closely with the Emergency care clinical pharmacist to deliver and evaulate a robust clinical pharmacy service across the Emergency Care Centre. You engage with key stakeholders to drive innovation and improve medicines optimisation and provide leadership and line management to pharmacy colleagues.
Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.
