We are seeking a driven Junior Sous Chef- Baker to join the Claridge's Bakery team.

Set in the heart of Mayfair, Claridge’s is an art deco icon and a byword for understated elegance. Since the 1850s, Claridge’s has excelled at the finer things in life: glamorous design, inspiring dining, impeccable service. There are many 5-star hotels in London but nowhere quite like Claridge’s. The hotel is a unique combination of splendour and charm with long-standing connections with royalty that have led to it sometimes being referred to as “annexe to Buckingham Palace”. Claridge’s has a famous all-day dining and Afternoon Tea restaurant the ‘Foyer & Reading Room’, L’Epicerie that offers a culinary theatre of the kitchen, and three bars: Claridge’s Bar, the intimate Fumoir and effortlessly elegant Painter’s Room.

Claridge’s Bakery will open on 21st February 2026, with internationally acclaimed chef and baker, Richard Hart, named as Executive Baker & Creative Director.

Launching with a British-focused menu of beloved classics including Bloomers and Granary Loaves and Hart’s globally renowned sourdough breads, as well as Jam Tarts, Custard Tarts, Belgian Buns and Iced Fingers, the bakery will sell delicious treats and goods straight from the ovens for hotel guests as well as London locals and visitors to enjoy.

Responsibilities
  • The development, supervision and preparation of all bakery items within Claridge’s Hotel
  • Ensuring that the highest standards are maintained at all times.
  • The development and ongoing learning of Chef de Parties, Demi Chef de Parties, Commis Baker and Apprentice chefs.
  • Ensuring that the kitchen areas, equipment and utensils are always kept clean and tidy.
  • Appropriate mise-en-place, stock rotation and portion control.
Qualifications
  • Be able to lead and manage a large fine dining establishment
  • Demonstrate an exceptional level of skill in the art of baking
  • Demonstrate genuine dedication to Claridge’s and show a commitment to consistent quality in our product and service.
  • Demonstrate an absolute understanding of our guests needs to create exceptional service experiences, that result in lasting memories
  • Be motivated, creative and have worked in a similar role with hotels or stand alone bakeries
  • You will have a passion for food and quality products, be a team player who is an avid learner who wants to be challenged and developed.
