At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have an overriding purpose to improve people’s lives.

About The Team & The Role

It’s an exciting time to be working at Bath & North East Somerset as we implement an organisational change programme that is transforming the way we work, and we embark on a period of significant capital investment across a range of transport and highways projects, rationalise our Corporate Estate, develop flagship sites at Bath Quays and Somer Valley, and deliver our ambitious housing programme through a pipeline of activity and strategic site allocation.

It is a challenging time, with a clear mandate from the current administration to deliver this ambitious capital programme. We are recruiting to supplement the great teams we have with people who are driven, experienced and determined, and who aspire to develop careers in a fast‑paced organisation.

The difference we make will improve lives in the district and regionally, working with the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority and greater devolution to help fund the capital programme.

Working closely with council colleagues, our experienced Surveyors and Engineers manage a very large portfolio of assets, inspecting and assessing building issues from mechanical and electrical services to structural elements, ensuring buildings function correctly and services are delivered efficiently, complying with health and safety law and extending building life.
