Job summary

An educational institution in Wales is seeking a Security Officer to join its Estates and Facilities team. The primary aim is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all. The successful candidate will provide visible security presence on campus and deter inappropriate behaviour. Applicants need prior security experience, ideally in a business setting. This role requires a DBS check and includes standard business hours with occasional out-of-hours work. Merthyr Tydfil College are looking to recruit a Security Officer to join its Estates and Facilities team. The main purpose of the post is to ensure a safe, secure, welcoming environment for staff, students and visitors by providing a visible security presence on campus, and by providing a duty of care to our learners and acting positively as a deterrent to inappropriate and undesirable behaviour.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must have experience working in a security role, ideally in a corporate/business type environment.

Working Pattern

Monday through to Friday core business hours, with 1-week in 5 out-of-hours on‑call, and the occasional requirement to work 'out of hours' with advance notice.

A DBS check is a requirement of this post.
