  • Starting salary: £27,519
  • Contract type: Seasonal, Fixed Term
  • Grade: 2
  • Location: Edinburgh, Holyrood Park
  • Working Hours: 5 out of 7 days, 35 hours per week on a rota of 5 days out of 7. This post will focus on providing cover for late shifts (to 8pm), weekend & bank/public holiday work as part of a rota. Daytime shifts may also be included. Occasional out of hours work may be required.
  • Interviews: To be held in person at Holyrood Education Centre in the weeks commencing 26th January and 2nd February 2026.

Seasonal Assistant Rangers’ tasks and roles are mainly outdoors and focus on visitor safety, patrolling and operational delivery. The post-holder will have a strong focus on visitor engagement, landscape protection and nature conservation, and will be expected to set exemplary standards. There will be opportunities to assist in the delivery and development of learning, community, and volunteer engagement.
