Pay is Hourly dependant on experience & qualifications: Entry level instructors will meet National Minimum wage.

Contract Length: Various contract lengths available, April-August / April-October / June-July

We’re seeking qualified instructors for the 2026 season
About Adventure Okehampton

Set on the northern edge of Dartmoor’s beautiful countryside & located adjacent to the ‘Dartmoor Line’ Railway station, we operate in conjunction with Okehampton YHA. The Centre has been offering residential accommodation since 1996, now with capacity for over 200 people split over 2 sites and adjacent camping fields. We offer a range of onsite and offsite Activities, including Rock Climbing, Abseiling, Gorge Scrambling, High Ropes, Canoeing, Kayaking, Mountain Biking & Bushcraft.

Who we’re looking for
The following are essential minimum pre-requisites to apply for this post
  • Climbing Wall Instructor (CWI) Training
  • Paddlesports Instructor (PSI)
  • General Confidence on a bike & willingness to train for a Mountain Bike (MIAS) Level 1 assessment.
  • Willingness to attend a 2 day 1staid course.
The following are desirable for this post
  • Previous instructing experience or sports coaching experience.
  • Climbing Wall Instructor + Abseil Module (CWI+A) or higher
  • Paddlesports Leader
  • MIAS Level 1 or higher
  • Archery GB Leader
  • Lowland Leader / Hill & Moorland Leader (HML) or higher
  • UK Driving Licence with a minimum of 2 yrs driving experience
  • D1 Driving endorsement and / or experience towing trailers.

All levels of staff are also expected to a 'school duty' role, involving communicating with visiting teachers and group leaders to ensure the smooth running of their stay.
