A local council in Danbury is seeking a part-time School Crossing Officer to ensure the safety of children and pedestrians crossing the road during school hours. The successful candidate will need a valid driving license and should be available during the academic year. This role involves maintaining safe pedestrian crossings and supporting local traffic management, offering a competitive hourly salary of £13.00.
Permanent, Part Time
Pay and hours: £13.00 per hour, 7.5 hours per week (approximately).
Hours are 45 minutes between 08:00 – 09:00 in the morning and 45 minutes between 14:45 – 15:45 in the afternoon, depending on site needs.
Location: Danbury (Well Lane, Danbury CM3 4AB).
Working style: Operational field‑based worker. This role requires the candidate to be mobile over the area and may involve a driving licence and access to a vehicle or other reasonable mobility arrangements.
As a School Crossing Patrol Officer, you will support the local community by safeguarding pupils and other pedestrians crossing the road to and from school and its surrounding areas. You will work once in the morning and once in the afternoon with the school and surrounding traffic. You will be supplied with uniform, equipment and training to support traffic management and safe pedestrian crossings.
