Job description
Residential Support Worker – Compass Community

Join Compass Community as a Residential Support Worker, caring for children in our supportive, non‑judgemental residential setting.

Qualifications
  • Is 22 years of age or above (to meet Ofsted regulations)
  • Is caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with children and staff
  • Has a valid manual driving licence
  • Has the ability to remain calm in challenging situations

Previous experience is not essential for this role. Successful applicants will receive a Skills to Care induction, including 2 weeks of classroom training and 1 week of shadow shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate children's activities and appointments, supporting them in all aspects of their lives and safeguarding them at all times
  • Meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom require high levels of supervision and support
  • Support the wider team with domestic tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and food shopping
  • Create timetables, manage paperwork, and write reports

  • 224 hours holiday, gradually increasing to 248 hours after 4 years
