A children's care provider in Bradford is seeking a passionate Residential Care Worker to support young people facing challenging behaviours and emotional difficulties. The role offers a supportive environment, training opportunities, and a commitment to safeguarding. Ideal candidates need a Level 3 qualification and should be emotionally resilient and able to work in a team-focused setting. The position is not available for those requiring sponsorship.
Job Title: Residential Care Worker 🧡
Location: Bradford (BD4)
Salary: £32,005.56
Working Hours: 8am-4pm (Mon - Fri)
Service: Children’s Home
Service Users: Young People – EBD, challenging behaviour, emotional difficulties
Qualifications Required: Level 3 Children & Young People Workforce or equivalent / or willingness to work towards Level 3/4
Experience in Years Desired (not essential): Experience with challenging children in a residential setting
Vacancies: This service is hiring 3 x Residential Care Workers 🙌
Number of Beds: 2-bed home with 2:1 staffing OR 2:1 staffing arrangements
Type of YPs: EBD, challenging behaviour, emotional difficulties
Ratio of staff to children: High staffing ratios (2:1)
As this position is a Residential Support Worker role, the following must be added:
Do NOT apply for this role if any of the following apply to you:
You do not hold a Full UK Driving Licence and do not have a car.
You only hold a Level 3 in Health & Social Care – this is not deemed equivalent.
You have only Healthcare, NHS, CQC or Nursery Practitioner experience.
You require sponsorship – no sponsorship available.
➡️ Individuals with only CQC experience and who have not worked in an Ofsted Registered Children’s Home will not be considered.
Someone who:
Has a genuine passion for supporting young people
Can build warm, positive and trusting relationships
Can confidently manage behaviours using PACE and Team Teach
Is emotionally resilient and committed to safeguarding
Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
Can work a rolling rota including weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins
Is open, honest, compassionate, and has a growth mindset
Is willing to undergo a DBS check
Can contribute positively to team meetings, planning, and daily routines
Is able to support education, activities, emotional regulation and daily living needs
