Relationship Manager – FCDO Services (Ref: 438726)

At FCDO Services, we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. We design and construct secure government buildings, courier diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguard government tech, and a whole lot more. Our Commercial team shapes services with expert insights, wins work through bid management, and helps us reach new customers each day.

Base Pay & Contract

Salary: £46,224 plus a £1,750 location allowance and excellent benefits.

Contract: Full‑time – Permanent.

Location: Based in Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes with hybrid working flexibility. Free shuttle bus between central Milton Keynes and Hanslope Park.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with your line manager on new business and opportunities.
  • Deliver agreed Corporate Plan and RAP revenue and gross‑margin targets and manage pipeline delivery at a project level.
  • Renew and secure commercial requirements, ensuring proposals are high quality and meet customer needs while protecting FCDO Services’ interests.
  • Influence operational relationships and customer experience through excellent communication.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex issues.
  • Develop a deep understanding of FCDO and higher‑tier customers, their future requirements, stakeholders, decision drivers, and budget priorities.
  • Drive forward and champion the development of compelling products and services that create better value for FCDO.
  • Manage forecasts, pipeline reports, and customer purchase orders with accuracy.
  • Collaborate with commercial and delivery teams to ensure reliable planning and propose realistic but ambitious targets.
Qualifications
  • Account manager experience in business delivery, negotiation, forecasting, reporting, business planning, and relationship management.
  • Proven track record of delivering high‑quality, efficient sales output.
  • Ability to secure business even in the face of resistance and other issues.
  • Strong customer management and expectation‑setting skills from opportunity through commercial completion.
  • Clear communicator and presenter capable of simplifying complex matters.
  • Leadership skills to support and develop team members.
  • Highly organised with a focus on details, deadlines, and results.
  • Knowledge of commercial acumen and financial management reporting.
  • Desirable: Degree or Level 6 qualification in business management.
  • Experience in value‑based selling, contract management, CRM, private‑sector best practice, and sales in secure environments.
  • Experience of product, project or service delivery across construction, estates, logistics, FM, ICT, or professional services.
  • Professional membership relevant to customer base (e.g., CIPS or RICS) is a plus.
