Job summary

The Utility Regulator is seeking to appoint permanent:

As an economic regulator, it is our role to enable, incentivise and hold energy and water companies to account for providing the very best levels of service and price for consumers both now and in the future.

Regulatory Managers - Price Controls

As a Price Control Regulatory Manager within the Utility Regulator, you will be responsible for proactively managing and developing a team of Analysts. The focus of the role will be to manage and lead price controls and operations work.

You will work with colleagues from across the organisation and participate in industry and government groups. A key feature of the role is supporting both the Board and Chief Executive in achieving the aims of our Corporate Plan and resulting Forward Work Programmes.

An essential element to working in the Utility Regulator is that you are principle and values driven. A central part of the role will be to develop, maintain and manage positive relationships with key stakeholders. You will be required to perform manager level duties as may reasonably be required.

We are looking for individuals with a strong track record in water, electricity and gas networks price control and operations within economic utility regulation, particularly with regulatory expertise in water and electricity network asset management; and/or in water electricity or gas engineering, particularly with respect to water network asset projects or gas network assets or operations projects and related activity,

You will have exceptional analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity and authority and build positive relationships at all levels. You will bring experience working at pace, on multiple high-priority strategic issues, often at the same time. You will also have the credibility and leadership skills to influence senior stakeholders and empower your team to deliver.
