Are you an experienced leader in children’s residential care, ready to step into a high-impact Registered Manager role? Gillespie Recruitment are working with a forward-thinking residential care provider seeking a Registered Manager to lead a 4-bed children’s home in Derby, specialising in supporting young people with complex needs and trauma backgrounds.

Your Role as Registered Manager

As the Registered Manager, you’ll lead the home to maintain high standards of care, ensuring a nurturing, stable, and compliant environment where young people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care and ensure full regulatory compliance
  • Lead, develop and retain a skilled and motivated care team
  • Develop bespoke care plans addressing each young person’s unique needs
  • Ensure the home achieves a minimum Good rating from Ofsted
  • Oversee budgets and commercial performance of the home
  • Actively involve young people in decisions about their care and daily life
  • Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, professionals, and families
What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a leader who brings not only experience but a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in children’s residential care, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management position

A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification)

Either already hold, or be prepared to enrol on, the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare

A solid understanding of Ofsted regulations, the SCCIF framework, and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015

Confidence and capability in leadership, safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and team development

Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour and implement trauma-informed care practices

A full UK driving licence is essential
