Hours: 37.5

Salary: £15.82 to £16.95 Hour (Salary based on qualifications)

Overview of the role

Reporting to the Assistant Regional Director, the Home Manager’s role is to be responsible for the overall management and daily running of the home, in accordance with CQC standards and Company policies and procedures, with the end purpose of creating a safe, positive and happy environment for all residents. There is an opportunity to study a Level 5 in Care Leadership & Management - General Adult Social Care Diploma to become a qualified Registered Manager.

The position requires extensive knowledge, including supervisory experience from working in Adult Social Care. You will need to have a professional approach with the ability to organise and prioritise, and a good knowledge of relevant codes of practice and legislation.

Leadership, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build lasting relationships with staff, residents, families and external organisations or partners, being patient, reliable and flexible are key characteristics of a successful Home Manager.

Where will you work?

Carisbrooke is a large, detached, suburban property, registered to support up to six men and women of varying ages with severe learning disabilities, autism and associated complex needs. The home is located just a few minutes away from Caversham village, near to local shops and within easy reach of Reading town centre. Carisbrooke provides individualised 24‑hour care within a safe and attractive environment, a bespoke programme of activities to promote ongoing personal development, and the involvement of our in-house Positive Behaviour Support Team to support the residents’ emotional and behavioural needs. Residents enjoy visits to the cinema, local restaurants and pubs, cycling, and swimming. The home has its own transport for leisure, recreational and educational activities in the community.
