Job Title: Reading Intervention Tutor (two positions available)

Contract Type: Permanent | Contract Term: Part-time

Salary Range: Local Government Scale 5, Points 9-12

Position Ref No: ECC5422-583S | Position Type: Teaching/Child Support

Position Start Date: Immediate | Application Close: 22/02/2026 Midnight | Date of Interviews: TBC

Responsibilities
  • Lead targeted reading intervention sessions for students identified as reading below their chronological age.
  • Provide tailored support through the Thinking Reading programme and alternative reading interventions.
  • Utilise strong interpersonal and organisational skills to enthuse and motivate students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support reading development across the school.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to enthuse and motivate students.
  • Team player with a strong grasp of English grammar.
  • Self-motivated and committed to continuing professional development.
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification is advantageous; Scale 6 pay scale will be considered.
