Job description
Radiation Protection Advisor

Join us as a qualified Radiation Protection Advisor (RPA). You will be part of a friendly and committed team of radiation protection specialists, driving technical solutions for our portfolio of clients while interfacing with a range of disciplines and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate operating environment and radiological requirements, tailor HP services to develop appropriate safe systems of work.
  • Act as a customer focal point on all aspects of operational Health Physics.
  • Provide radiation protection advice ensuring working practices meet legislation and best practice.
  • Mentor trainee RPAs, review staff capability, development and performance.
  • Advise teams on operational styles to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Work in compliance with the Nuvia Limited Health Physics QA system.
  • Provide competent guidance and advice on radiological safety for legislative compliance.
  • Ensure procedures are correctly applied to technical activities.
  • Coordinate production of radiological protection documentation such as Normal Operational Dose Uptake Assessments, Radiological Zoning, Risk Assessments, ALARP Assessments, Operating Instructions and compliance statements.
  • Contribute to project scheduling: define deliverables, identify dependencies, estimate resourcing, time, and cost requirements.
Required Experience

Proven experience in a radiation protection role is essential. Experience interfacing with personnel and other technical disciplines is desirable.

Qualifications
  • RPA2000 Certified Radiation Protection Adviser.
  • Previous experience in the provision of radiation protection advice.
  • Ability to mentor trainees as needed.
  • Science‑related degree or equivalent experience.
