Job summary

A reputable construction firm in the UK is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage all aspects of contractual and financial elements of construction projects. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience and a relevant degree. Ideal candidates will be professional, confident, organized, and have strong IT skills. Your responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for…

  • Managing all aspects of the contractual and financial elements of construction projects.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants and design teams pre and post contract.
  • Procurement of sub-contractors including enquires, cost analysis, pre order procedures through to order placement.
  • Preparing monthly cost value reports and any ad hoc financial reporting as required.
  • Valuing completed work, managing budgets, and overseeing payments.
  • Collating effective records to support the final account and sub-contract accounts.
  • Site measures for contract valuations, variations and sub-contractors.
  • Setting targets and managing budgets for any WCL direct works.
  • Control and manage all tender and contract information in line with the business systems.
  • Undertake unaccompanied site visits to meet the needs of your role.
  • Providing support and guidance to trainee and junior members of the commercial team.
  • Liaising with and assisting as necessary other Company employees and management.
Ideal Candidate
  • Professional and confident with the ability to deal with clients, consultants and supply chain.
  • Minimum 5 years Quantity Surveying experience within a similar organization.
  • Educated to Degree Level in relevant commercial qualification.
  • Excels in working as part of a team and under own supervision.
  • Organised, self-motivated and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Competent with IT systems, in particular the Microsoft suite of software.
  • Ability to maintain high quality & attention to detail.
  • Full UK driving license and transport.
