Qualifications

  • No formal qualifications required, full training provided but advantageous to have manufacturing/engineering qualifications.
  • Experience in a technical, manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture, repair, and maintain prosthetic devices to the highest standards.
  • Follow clinician prescriptions and guidelines accurately.
  • Adhere to quality assurance procedures and health and safety standards.
  • Bring innovation and creativity to the workshop.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and Lead Prosthetist.

Join our dynamic and growing team at our Proactive Clinic in Leeds! Proactive has established an enviable reputation as a Centre of Excellence in private prosthetic care, treating patients with traumatic limb loss and other conditions impacting mobility. We provide a patient‑focused, friendly environment, with an onsite manufacturing facility. Committed to delivering the best possible outcomes for our patients, we utilise the latest cutting‑edge technologies and manufacturing methods. Our clinical and technical teams work in close collaboration, offering peer‑to‑peer support to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered. We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate Prosthetic Technician, to join us. This position requires a dynamic individual, committed to the highest standards of manufacturing, using cutting‑edge componentry to build prosthetic limbs and other devices. The successful candidate will be offered technical support & training from our highly skilled team who have extensive experience in manufacturing for private prosthetic patients. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to adopt best practise for quality manufacturing, the ability to think outside the box and a desire to work in a highly skilled, technical manufacturing environment. The relevant qualifications and registration to work in the UK will also be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture, repair, and maintain prosthetic devices to the highest standards, ensuring every product supports patient mobility and comfort.
  • Follow clinician prescriptions and guidelines meticulously, ensuring each device meets individual patient needs.
  • Adhere to all quality assurance procedures and regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Bring innovation and creativity to the workshop. Continuously seeking ways to improve your skills and the quality of work produced.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and Lead Prosthetist to uphold and elevate the standard of care provided to our patients.
Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Positive can attitude, with the ability to think outside of the box.
  • Good technical ability and strong hand skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in collaboration with others.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in similar technical, manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Qualifications: No formal qualifications are required for the role, as full training will be provided, however, qualifications in manufacturing or engineering are advantageous.
